Introduction to Free Motion Quilting

This class is for brand new machine quilters. We start with the basics; discussing threads, needles, batting and other FMQ supplies. You will learn how to baste a quilt sandwich together which we will use to learn common all-over quilting designs and free motion fillers. This class will help you get comfortable with how the quilt sandwich moves under the needle of your home sewing machine.

Free Motion Quilting: Longarm Edition

This class will take techniques learned in “Introduction to Free Motion Quilting” and “Free Motion Quilting Series” and apply them to Longarm Quilting. We will learn how to move the machine over the quilt, how to execute your quilting to get the most out of your space, as well as discuss what to do with designs that are larger than your quilting space. Previous longarm experience is recommended, but not required.

Rulerwork: Longarm Edition

This class teaches the basics of using a ruler for straight (and curved) lines on the longarm. We will learn how to move the machine along a ruler and how to keep your ruler secure during the process. There will be a variety of rulers for you to try during this class. 

No additional supplies needed, just bring yourself and willingness to have fun! 

*$20 kit fee paid to instructor.
